The Home Office's Reputation as Not for Purpose
I was talking about the home office, because I think now in Whitehall, it has a reputation as being not for purpose. How did you find it compared to the other departments that you led? Do you think it got worse over the last 10 years? What would you do with you with the home secretary now to rebuild it? There's probably fewer of them now. Police numbers were cut by 20%. There was a lot of cuts to borderful stuff as well. You can get competency back in to turn those asylum seekers around.
