How Does a Calcium Channel Work?
Every cell of the body has a sodium potassium ATPase pump. Throws three sodium out of the cell, back into the blood and two potassium into the cell. Anti-harpetensive drugs like diuretics work by blocking the sodium chloride co-transporter. Side effect is we reabsorb more calcium - which might be useful for people who have osteoporosis or high blood pressure.
