The Epistle of the Apostles
The epistle seems to have come from a time when the ministry of the apostles had ended, as verse 17 implies. I suspect that we should date the epistle to the final years of the sixties. The church has received a deposit of truth and must jealously guard it from pollution with error. There are persons within the church who have crept in but do not share its spirit. At stake is the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
