I wrote an article years ago about fanfic and for my own newsletter I went back to look at it again. It's funny the tropes in articles that aren't anything to do with identity politics, like pansexual characters who don't have a trans character. The things they say are cultural broader than any disagreement on trans or gender or whatever so some of the things they say like you're focused on genitals is a real off-the-shelf opinion that you don't have to be a trans activist to spew out at inappropriate moments.
