What Happened to the Police?
Oldfield asked people in Chappelltown to write down car registration numbers. He also made the decision to bring files of all five murders together into one room. Out of house-to-house inquiries, 679 homes were seen and interviewed. Nearly 3,700 statements were taken and checks were made on all men taken into custody for offences of violence.
