Researchers from the University of Iowa called 101 US hospitals on prices from the same type of hard bypass operations. Only 53 provided the price varied from $44,000 to $448,000. Hospital officials confess that they inflate bills each year in order to generate more revenue since the insurance companies pay. Medicare and Medicaid underpayments were $100 billion up from $75.8 billion in 2019.
