Sit upright, preferably cross-legged on a cushion. Gently let your eyelids fall closed. Notice any sounds around you. They aren't bad things, nor are they good things. Just let them pass through your consciousness like water over smooth stones in a stream. Pull your belly outward as you take a deep breath through your nose. As you let the air out of your lungs, notice any changes in sensation in your body. Continue breathing this way until you've meditated today.
