I think the main thing is just the pure chemical uptake but of course you also create more biomass which depending on what you do with it you could also use that to take up carbon dioxide so it could be a significant relation to greenhouse gas. The bit I do love about this is that this material is pretty useless up in Greenland but it sounds like there could be a huge demand for it across the tropics.
