The Black Box is a two-part series on the unexplainable nature of artificial intelligence. The story here really is about the unknowns. We've got something that's not meaningfully regulated, but can go off the rails in ways we don't understand yet. How did we get to this place where we've got super powerful programs that scientists are still struggling to understand? It started with a pretty intriguing question dating back to when the first computers were invented.
AI has the potential to impact our society in dramatic ways, but researchers can’t explain precisely how it works or how it might evolve. Will they ever understand it?
This is the first episode of our new two-part series, The Black Box.
