The Role of the Drummer in an Ensemble

When you say the music that you heard, what playing the drum sort of fel like, you know, you could relate more to the music you were hearing. I wasn't particularly listening to clarinet music when i was playing clarionet, for example. Ah, they always say that you can't have a great band without having a great drummer. And in some cases, i don't think of the drummer in that role.
