Shakespeare's Henry V
The chorus is here in the role of the propagandist for Henry. He's telling us about an event that we don't see, so he's telling rather than showing. The agenda is to show Henry's selfless devotion to his men and the comfort they draw from his presence. Shakespeare compromises or at least he allows us to compromise that initial presentation by the way he structures the scenes which follow the chorus.
