Inflation was already high before the pandemic, at two point three per ent am. We're paying 50 % for a pair of what we paid 20 years ago. All the tangible stuff we buy is getting cheaper cause we're getting better at making it. The American family 's having to pay way less for hard goods and food, and weigh more for housing, education and health care.
