Blue suede shoes and Elvis's first single for RCA, Heartbreak Hotel, were racing up the charts at the same time as each other. At one point it was being performed simultaneously on two different TV shows. Blue suede shoes was an obvious hit, but the B-side, Honey Dones, got more than a little at-plate as well.
