The Importance of Wrath in the Atonement
The idea of Christ's victor is central to the New Testament. Paul says on the cross he disarmed the principalities and powers, a made a public example. When Jesus dies in the place of sinners, some version of penal substitutions,. then that breaks the hold which the powers have on the world so that it isn't as many have imagined either Christus Victor or some form of substitution.
