I have this theory that's more like media sociological that Catholics relied on sort of Catholic specific newspapers and news sources when they were not as assimilated to the wider American culture. So I think there was probably a comfort in that. People don't know what Catholics are doing unless it's like something viral, like something great. Like recently the death penalty issue, Cara, the Center for Applied Research in the United States did a study last year that said 25% of Catholics knew that the Catholic Church had a teaching on the death penalty. What? How do people not know that?
