Brody and Rose

The most scandalous part of the book is Brody has two love and interests at the school. The girls don't understand sex, but they are very interested in it. They all assume that she's going to eventually succumb and have an affair with the dashing Mr. Lloyd. She grooming Rose to be a surrogate in her place, to give herself up sexually. And somehow that will be an offering she can make to this man. There never seems to be a consequence actually for Sandy's action.
