Psychotherapy - What the Public Doesn't Understand

The public doesn't understand and unfortunately, people in the mental health professions sometimes don't understand, you get an immediate placebo response very quickly. When somebody starts a psychiatric medication, they take the pill. They feel better. But a lot of things are already at play that are all working to make them feel better, that have nothing to do with the pill. So just to recap, meaningful psychotherapy requires a meaningful human relationship, requires time, six months to a year minimum, and often running to two years.
