The Challenge of Unfolding a Space Telescope

The James webb space telescope has been in development for 20 years. It will orbit the sun one and a half million kilometers from earth. The huge mirror, six and a half meters across, is covered by a gold shield. A vast sun shield that'll permanently shade the giant instrument also has to be unfurled in space. And it's all folded up now - ready for its big unveiling next month.
