Iron Man: A Movie That Makes Money
Iron Man is an exquisitely well made film for the type of film that it is. It arrives in the culture in 2008, after the heyday of the war on terror and after the sheen is off. I mean, you know, like the origin story of Tony Stark is this kind of ambivalence around the war in Afghanistan. There's definitely something there that people wanted to give, have the excuse to feel good about something that they had felt a real molly is about for the last few years at least.
