The Supreme Court's intermediate stay basically allowed the first map to go into effect for this election cycle. Alabama is arguing that it's impossible to draw a second majority minority district in Alabama without taking race into consideration. The state isn't even frankly required to draw a majority minority district, as a remedy, they can draw any kind of district.
