Why Study Historical and Systematic Theology?

The question was a decent one. If put in the form of a question and not this person's critique, it could be a decent one for an episode. That's just somebody who doesn't like systematic historical theology. Why do we study historical and systematic theology when we have the word of God? So I'm, so, so why do that?
