On April 16th, while JFK was giving the go-ahead on the invasion of Cuba, Fidel Castro stood outside a cemetery in Havana. The Americans had begun their attack and Castro knew that the inevitable battle would arrive. Though Kennedy had strictly disallowed it, two of the first men to land with the brigade were Americans.
