The History of the Zhen-Gakurin

The Zhen-Gakurin was an outgrowth of the Japanese Communist Party founded in 1948 by the JCP. The movement grew rapidly because it could piggyback onto existing campus student governments. By the late 50s, an anti-Stalinist anti-Japanese Communist Party branch came to dominate the movement itself. It was called the Bund, Bundo in Japanese, derived from the name of the Bunderkomunistan or Communist League, founded by Karl Marx in 1847.
