The Spirit of Consecration

Consecration refers to the way we dedicate ourselves to the things of God through specific sacrificial acts. These were the three movements of consecration in the Old Testament: Cleansing, sacrifice and dedication. In our modern world today, we have a lot of access to water around here. We think that showering is normal, baths are normal. But they didn't shower for hygiene. They primarily used oils, anointments and that sort of thing. To go through a ceremonial cleansing using water was like to take a very specific, rare resource. And so I just want to let you know this ain't it.
