Young People's Concerns About Mental Health
Young people have always been aware of the shorter term health problems from drinking, whether that be embarrassment, shame, regret, injury. But now they're worried about addiction or long-term mental health problems like cancer and liver cirrhosis. The trend is global and it's consistent but we can't rule out increased attention and focus on alcohol as a factor. I think these are really things that we don't remember seeing in the literature from 20 years ago. It was more about let's be in the moment, let's pursue happiness and wellbeing in the moment.
