Marshall: Apple Pay in many ways is reminiscent of that Chinese top-down model. What kind of cares about what's the alternative? I think we see this time and time again where a lot of new products and services are actually being driven by small and nascent firms, often purchased by bigger firms. Marshall: Are they giving exclusive licenses to just one big firm, or are they broadly licensing it so that the entire ecosystem can benefit from it? He says he would like to see a world where more apps and services should have to comply with all the security requirements others will meet.
