I'm always astounded aid in how you remember, like, something that I or someone else will say it's kind of scary actually. So why don't I answer your question in part by talking about maybe my two books a little bit if that works and then sort of that will maybe be a good segue for us to talk about how I actually try to grapple with keeping track of stuff. Ian: Throughout my academic career I have wrestled with the significance of what I do in terms of my academic research. He says he tries to trick himself into thinking his studies are more important than they are.

We talked about my dad's experience researching for his thesis and books as an undergraduate without modern-day notetaking tools, what makes researchers interested in their research, the conflict with freer form notetaking and publishing, and how to make your notes accessible to the general public as an academic.
