Is There a High View of Scripture?

i think what i've learned is a high view of scripture for me is respecting the otherness of it. For me, that's treating the bible with respect. And it's ironic that by doing that, i'm often accused of disrespecting the bible. But how reading these stories, when they have an effect on us, there is a sense in which that story has authority. You know, it's forcing the question of us to examine our own existence. I think the bible does quite a bit of that, actually.
