What Do You Think About Clay Tablets Facing the Natives?
Howard Carter was famously not very adept at reading hieroglyphs. And his workers almost certainly could not have sight read a hieroglyphic tablet like that. So to suggest that these people will be put off by this and you're quite right, there is no evidence that anything like this did exist. But I think it's also part of a wider problem that we have with ancient Egypt or the study of ancient Egypt - so many people kind of see ancient Egypt as almost a bubble outside reality.
