Eric Olander and Cobus Fence-Stadden look back at Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's four day visit to China last week. The Chinese gave gifts to the Palestinians in the form of reaffirming the call for an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital. They also called for Palestine's full membership in the UN and the resumption of peace talks under the land for peace premise. At the same time, the Palestinians gave a few gifts to the Chinese.
