The idea of the roman church having a political form at all is not palatable to many, but Schmidt rejects their distaste. He cites fyodor dostoyevsky's grand inquisitor, and enigrades dostoevskys fundamentally anarchistic. The key in the modern era is the embrace of papal infallibility, declared at the first vatican council in 18 70.
