Older People Get Chronic Disease

Disease is considered chronic when it persists for at least a year or more and requires ongoing medical attention. Almost 30 million americans are living with five or more chronic diseases. Around 60 % of adults suffer from at least one one chronic condition, while forty two percent suffer from multiple. Among those 60 or older, at least 80 % have one chronic illness, and 50% have two.
