Merritt: Initially, in that press conference, it seemed like that was saying that they were for constitutional recognition. I would strongly advise against taking any of this shitting good faith. Do you remember hearing about the fact that there was this preamble that was going to be... That was put up as a referendum question as well, alongside the Republic. And initially, the draft said we acknowledge Aboriginal people and their custodianship of these lands. But then Howard changed that to kinship with their country - which is just beautiful stuff. It seems like apparently now they're not on board with any constitutional change at all. Or they're just saying, yeah, that's off.
