The Health Benefits of Canola Oil
Harvard scientists reported that the rates of heart disease went down as consumption of omega-6 fats, which is what you find in canola oil, went up. Replacing saturated fat with omega-6 fatty acids reduced the risk of heart attacks and other coronary events by 24%. Canola oil is very low in saturated fat, high in monosaturated fat, and has phytosterols, which help limit the absorption of cholesterol in your body. Another big fear was that canola causes the production of hexane - but like most toxins, the poison is always in the dose.
