Gillies was able to achieve more because of this really collaborative approach. He had artists, he had dental surgeons, he had radiographers. Everybody was working on the reconstruction of a human face. And that boded well, because it's a creative process as well as a medical process. So it was m external structures that were being built around the jaw to hold it in place.
