Transportation Climate Initiative - The Most Important Tool to Reduce Transportation Omissions
Transportation climat initiative (t c i) was designed to reduce emissions from the transportation sector. The plan would have made gasolene and desal suppliers purchase permits for the greenhouse gases they would omit in future. Each year, the total number of available permits could have declined over time, guaranteeing omissions reductions. T c i built on the success of reggie, the regional greenhouse gas initiative. Under reggi, rather than fuel supplies, it's power plants that have to purchase amissions allowances.
