Rabbi Mark Solomon grew up in the orthodox Jewish world, where being gay was utterly taboo. He came over to Britain to complete his rabbinic studies as an orthodox rabbi. But conflict between laws and values that he was openly espousing and the way he felt within himself became so intense it was all very depressing. Rabbi found a home in liberal Judaism - one of first religious denominations to embrace equal marriage.
