There is actually a fascinating verse in section 85 of the doctrine covenants that draws upon this obscure passage from ezra. It says that they who are of the high priesthood, whose names are not found written in the book of the law, shall not find an inheritance among the saints of the most high. I guess the lord knows his old testament, obviously. I guess joseph smith does too. Ah, to find this passage buried in ezra chapter two, and yet they see its relevance among the early saints. Let's just apply this across the board to all of us.
