Is There a Need to Do an Equalization Check on a Class?

i wanted to be able o sal like, if i do this action, that the the object that's returned back equals this. And my thinking was, well, i don't know if there's ever a need that we'll want to do an equality check on this object type outside of the unit test. But instead, what i did was, on the class itself, i just went ahead and implemented iequatable and did it there inside the class.
