What's the Biggest Bacteria in the World?
A newly described species of bacterium can apparently grow up to two centimeters long. This is 20 thousand micrometers in length, which is about the same length as a peanut. The bacteria also seems to be enclosed within a membrane. These were discovered ten years ago in the caribbean by one of the researches involved in this work.
