If you're just sitting there eating high calorie food, taking in a lot of sensory information that has you really wrapped with attention, there's really no incentive to be motivated to do anything else at a biological level. Pleasure without effort preceding it is absolutely deadly. The key is put effort in front of pleasure and you will have a and learn how to relax and access these other systems of serotonin, etc. and appreciation.
