Herod the Baptist's Execution

In Mark 6, we read that on Herod's birthday, John, the Baptist is being executed. We get a clue for this in verse 3 of chapter 14. It said that Herod laid hold on John and bound him and put him in prison for Herodias's sake. Now why does she leave Philip? We really don't know, but here's my take.
