The russia central bank used to own a lot of reserves, mostly in western countries. Now the biggest chunk is in gold in Russia and china. And then there are some chunks in francetere re some chunks in germany,. olso in the united states. So those chunks will be frozen. Is pretty clear. This will have very importan long time consequences for Russian economy. It means that it will become more attached to china and more detached from Western world. The sanctions do play in that game by being vague. One of the thing i learn is that the reason why we don't know exactly the details is because, by design, kind of ambigous.
