The Second Amendment Is Not Enforceable Against the Federal Government, but Against the States
The court said that it didn't need to a, settle that question in this case. Some scholars have argued that when you're talking about a state infringement on a constitutional right, that what really matters is how the right was understood at the time of tefourteenth amendment's ratification. It's going to be really interesting to see, a, what happens with that, given that they recognized the existence of that scholarly debate and sort of left the door open to answering it in both directions.
