How to Be a Better Artist
Louise: I don't want them to think that the only art that can be fun and expressive is abstract if what they want to do is paint still life for people. There was a person last year who wanted to move into representational work but every time she tried to do portrait it was stiff and controlled. She got to that by letting go of all these thoughts she had about what a good portrait should be, says Louise. The first portrait that she did on the course is in a gallery or in a jewelry show in California where she lives.
