What Does This Mean?

Benedict says modern scientific reason bears within itself a question which points beyond itself and beyond the possibilities of its methodology. If you do not accept that there is rational structure to the universe, you cannot do science. This regensburg lecture is philosophically brilliant, in my opinion, but it's also a literary masterpiece. The questions have to be remanded by the natural sciences to other modes and planes of thought, to philosophy and theology.
