But ultimately, the conditions of the peasantry in places like Russia and China would be so qualitatively different than they were in Italy and Germany, in France. The Taiping rebellion and the Boxer rebellion are violent class, proto-class struggles of a level that Europe never even really saw on its bourgeois revolutions.
