We need to recognize that actually sometimes people can be in an overwhelming life situation where that is a big big driver for them. It's quite human to feel overwhelmed by overwhelming circumstances. But we might have some strategies that people may choose to use alongside seeing if they can help with that circumstance. Have a look at the lifestyle situation. See what can be changed in terms of the work situation. See if you can set boundaries in some situations. Not always easy but those of us that work in caring professions often are brilliant at empathy. And empathy without boundaries is the recipe for exhaustion because you take on lots of other people
