The Importance of Curriculum Support for Teachers

The argument that providing more curriculum support to teachers reduces their professionalism is akin to saying that providing more support to surgeons also reduces their professionalism. If you and the analogy there for teachers would be, well, if I'm a mathematics teacher, do I choose what curriculum to teach? What's the equivalent of curriculum support for a surgeon in their domain? In most professions, the higher you go up in a profession, the more guidance, the more controls, the more parameters around what is considered performance or what are the things you have to follow.
