The Circus of Nero

The obelisk in St. Peter's Square was taken by Caligula from Egypt just to flex to decorate the circus. And eventually Nero completes this huge public work. This becomes a martyrdom site for a lot of Christians, including St. Peter. The moment you start to wipe something off the internet, that's when the internet really starts to push that stuff out even more.
